You Are Who You Are… People Can’t Get with That? Oh Well.

Let’s be real for a second.

You are who you are. Not who people expect you to be, not who makes everyone comfortable, not who fits into everybody’s version of acceptable. Just… you. And if folks can’t get with that? Oh well.

Some people will get you instantly. Some people will take time. And some people? They just never will. And that’s okay. Everybody is not assigned to understand your personality, your confidence, or your presence. That doesn’t make you wrong. That just means they’re not your people.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us were taught to tone it down, be more approachable, be less this and more that… all in the name of making other people comfortable. But let’s be honest — you don’t have to shrink yourself just to be easier to handle. You don’t have to edit your personality to be accepted. And you definitely don’t have to become smaller so someone else can feel bigger.

The right people don’t require a modified version of you. They don’t need constant explanations or watered-down energy. They don’t make you feel like you have to perform or prove anything. They just accept you. No pressure, no confusion, no tension. Just alignment.

And everything isn’t personal. Everything isn’t rejection. Sometimes it’s just different personalities, different comfort levels, different spaces. Not everything is meant to click, and forcing it only creates frustration where there doesn’t need to be any. It’s okay to let things be what they are without trying to make them into something they’re not.

At some point, you have to get comfortable with being fully yourself without needing approval. Without needing validation. Without needing to constantly adjust just to be received better. Because the truth is, no matter how much you change, somebody will still find something to say. So, you might as well just be real.

You are who you are. And that is enough.

And if someone can’t get with who you naturally are… if your presence, your confidence, or your personality feels like too much for them…

Then respectfully…

Oh well. 💋
